Welcome

Don Area Co-operative Homes Inc. has provided housing to its member residents in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood of downtown Toronto for over forty years. A member-controlled non-profit community, Don Area Co-op is made up of forty-one houses scattered along four streets.

Eight of our houses were newly built in 1985; the rest are late-Victorian, and are designated as heritage buildings by the City of Toronto.

Many houses are divided into smaller flats, providing a total of 75 units ranging from bachelor flats to five bedroom single-family homes.

We are a mixed-income community. Although our members come from a rich diversity of backgrounds and experience, one interest shared by many is gardening. Don Area Co-op is proud to have been acknowledged over the years with several CHFT garden awards.
